About the Mildred L. Batchelder Award
Award (Winner) and Honor Books from ALSC's list of Batchelder winners, 1968-present; this file covers 2006-2025. Year is the award year ALSC uses (announced each January for books published in the US the prior year). ALSC gives the award to the US publisher; the publisher is left out here. Author field names the writer, then the illustrator when different; translator is the English translator as credited (for My Beijing, translated via French, the French-to-English translator). Where ALSC credits a publisher as translator, that name is kept.
Organization: Association for Library Service to Children (American Library Association). Years are award years, which can differ from publication years. Official site (opens in a new tab)
