Question by Orange Peel: Most amazing fiction novels ever?
Ive read only a few dozen books but Ive been lucky enough to stumble on a few that once I finish reading it, I am like “Wow, that was SUCH an amazing story. I wish I could forget it and read it again.” Thinking off the top of my head, a couple books that may have done that for me (can’t really remember) are probably Harry Potter?, last book of Bartimaeus trilogy, … (can’t really think of a book in particular that did that) … Slumdog Millionaire (the movie, but was based on a book)
So I want to find more books out there like that. Obviously, best bet is to google most renowned novels or something. But the top 100 list is filled with books like Catch 22, etc. which seem to me like boring hard novels that Im forced to read in English.
Help!

Swan Song by Robert McCammon…Don’t be put off by the size of it. It is an EXCELLENT book. =) It is about a nuclear winter and evil.

The Night Trilogy by Elie Wiesel (though Night is his true story) and East of Eden. Those are on my top 10.
Some suggestions:
*Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck
*The Green Mile by Stephen King
*American Psycho by Bret Easton Ellis
*On The Road by Jack Kerouac
*The Linnet Bird by Linda Holeman
Ok, this one’s historical fiction but don’t be frightened by its dictionary-like appearance. Gone With the wind by Margaret mitchell. It is a beautiful civil war book that really makes you think. It seems like it would be a boring English book, but if you listen to what the words are really saying you learn so much interesting stuff! My favorite part is during the siege of atlanta where Scarlett is trying to escape the burning town with this lady in labor. She tries to get help from Rhett but hes just like, “chill lady, we’re going to get out.” and they take a rickedy old wagon and a dying horse and putz out of there. SO funny!
